Steve, former knight myself Class of 85. I believe the Ju-52 pictured above is the bird from THS. I used to visit Torrejon AB on Google Earth quite often. The moved the Ju-52 to the corner of a field near the NCO club on TJ where it sat for years with several other planes and that yellow pickup seen under the wing of the Ju-52 in the second pic above. Coordinates listed show it on TJ AB at the time of the images. It says the plane is in Getafe being restored as of 2014.

I was with a High School ROTC Unit at Torrejon AB called the Spain 71st AFJROTC back in the 70's. The Spanish Air Force gave this JU-52 as a gift to our unit back in 1975. I do recall we also got the manuals for this aircraft and it was all in German. SO,...I'm thinking this was a German built JU-52 vs. a license built type. As of now, "our" JU-52 is no longer at Torrejon AB and where it went,........no information. It was a fully intact aircraft minus the batteries. Abandoned and in bad shape, its dangerous to walk within its hallways today, for a stalactite may fall on you head, or a wall may cave in.
